Paper Mache`

This piece was originally published in a print edition of The Angry Manifesto. The events in Las Vegas this past weekend reminded me of why I wrote it.

Paper Mache`

Newspaper blackened fingers
rip and shred creased paper;
tearing strips of columns,
dividing headlines from bylines,
bisecting ads, dissecting photos,
relocating this, transferring that.

      Dip a strip in glue,
pat it down, repeat.

Layer words upon phrases, upon
graphed pictures, upon headlines.
      Dip a strip in glue,
pat it down, repeat.

What was thin, made thickly sturdy.
Ordered, remade, brought forth
to rise above one dimensional flatness
of unfeeling paragraphs reported,
lacking a face to accompany the
heart pumping circumstances reported.

      Dip a strip in glue,
pat it down, repeat.

Layer words upon phrases, upon
graphed pictures, upon headlines.
      Dip a strip in glue,
pat it down, repeat.

Brushed and smoothed, caressed into
three dimensional spatial existence.
More than hearts on sleeves of bystanders –
unmasked compassion as expression
on the face of humanity, personified.
Equality found in transformed perception.

Be Lost…

Be lost… so you can be found purely you without influence or push from those who think they know best. Trust in your inner knowing as you discover the innate pieces of the universe residing in your soul.
Truth shines as truth no matter the path you travel. Be found… so you can be lost from limitations placed by those who do not understand your path. Trust they face the same paradigm and they will find themselves in different places than you. We are all wanderers searching for a home in our soul.
