It’s Time

It's Time

Whatever path you choose –
walk it brave, walk it true.
Eyes focused to the sky –
steady steps, shoulders high.
With a smile meet head on
all that shows, all that comes.
Be all you’re meant to be
no more fear, find your free.
You are more than you know
it’s time to go, time to grow.

Windows

Windows

Winds of change
blow against
dusty panes of glass
waiting for us
to answer offers of
opportunities overlooked.
It is easier to
protectively close doors
than approach windows
waiting to be opened.
Unseen eyes of the heart
reveal open-minded paths.
I look for windows
hidden by overgrowth
waiting to be
discovered.

MEET NIKKI ANNE SCHMUTZ

Thank you, Susan, for an amazing interview on your blog!

“She’s a Literary Mogul, a Giant amongst her Writing Peers. If you haven’t heard of Nikki Anne Schmutz, have no doubt you soon will, for this multi-faceted Entrepreneur is going places and you can only hope and pray that you can keep up with her or prepare to merge with the dust in her wake. Join me here, for, as luck would have it, I was able to snag down this elusive butterfly from the whirlwind of her exhilarating and invigorating life to sit for a while and give us an insight into the day-by-day activities of her existence as Mother and Prolific writer (among other things) who doesn’t have the words “slow-down” in her DNA’S vocabulary.

Even before the interview has ended, don’t be surprised if you start to admire her, learn to love her, and find yourself never forgetting her.” – Susan Joyner-Stumpf

Lit Matches

Lit Matches

She stood on straw –
a measly foundation
on which to build a future.
When the match was lit,
it all went up in flames.
What should have
burned her to the ground
became her power –
passion burning a path
to her future.

Yesterday a good friend told me he was continually impressed with my ability to extract a positive message out of the darkness. He was right to see that it really is a central message in much of my work. I believe there is always hope, there is always light to be found, and there is always a silver lining to grow from.
